Topic(s): Announcement | No Comments

Date/Time: 19/08/2004 12:00 am

THE FIRST DOWNTOWN FOR DEMOCRACY SWING STATE VOLUNTEER BUS WILL LEAVE FOR OHIO ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 19 AT 10 PM AND RETURN SUNDAY, AUGUST 22!!!
New York State will vote Democratic in November, but New Yorkers can still help sway the outcome in the rest of the country. Get on the D4D bus, swing in to the key battleground states of Ohio and Pennsylvania, and elect change in 2004!
Downtown For Democracy is sending busloads of New York-area volunteers to register voters and get out the vote this fall. In Ohio, D4D is partnering with Votemob, a project of 21st Century Democrats that’s contacting 1,000,000 young voters in Minnesota, Oregon, and Ohio. D4D volunteers will do voter registration, as well as door-to-door and street corner canvassing in Columbus.
We’ll also kick back at a D4D-hosted party where we’ll be giving away drinks
and t-shirts; there will be movies on the bus, and you’ll see a bit of the
Buckeye state in the process.
Subsequent trips will take place through November. Transportation and lodging will be provided at a cost of only $20. For more information, dates of
departure or to reserve a spot, contact getonthebus@downtownfordemocracy.org or call us at 718.290.9153.
We look forward to traveling with you!
