Artist Cai Guo-Quiang’s Light Cycle is an explosion event that will illuminate Central Park at 7:45pm on Monday, September 15, 2003 for a duration of 4-5 minutes. Symbolizing renewal and vitality, this event is the culmination of a summer-long celebration of Central Park’s 150th anniversary, and will highlight the Park as New York City’s brightest point for one memorable night.
