MAY 22 Saturday, 1–6pm MURMURS: A Conference on Sound and Art Davis Auditorium, Columbia University, 116th Street and Broadway, NYC Three moderated discussions: Sound: New Technologies, An Artist Roundtable, and Sound: Leaking between Disciplines in which artists, curators, and critics consider sound as a material, an experience, and a concept within the context of contemporary art. Participants include: Regine Basha (independent curator, and curator of Treble at SculptureCenter), Christoph Cox (Department of Philosophy, Hampshire College), Anthony Huberman (Program Director, SculptureCenter), Ron Kuivila (Department of Music, Wesleyan University and curator of Rock’s Role at Art in General), Carol Parkinson (Executive Director, Harvestworks), Michael J. Schumacher (artist and co-founder of Diapason Gallery), Debra Singer (Associate Curator of Contemporary Art, Whitney Museum of American Art), Jude Tallichet (artist), among others.
