TURF PRESENTS AN INSTALLATION BY KHANH VO AT CORRIDOR 52
Turf (Trans Urban Roaming Forum), a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting art in borrowed spaces, is pleased to announce an exhibition marking the launch of CORRIDOR 52, a new Harlem venue for experimental art projects conceived by Turf Board member, Aram Jibilian. The setting of CORRIDOR 52—a wide 56 foot long hallway—challenges the notion of where art can live. This unusual gallery setting, itself a passageway, creates a staying point in a space designed and understood as the interval between two destinations.
Opening to the public October 25 (reception October 26), CORRIDOR 52 features an installation by Khanh Vo. Referencing both the architecture and the concept of the hallway as passageway, Vo constructs a space visually leading to other spaces. Vo’s recent body of work examines second-hand experience of the war in Vietnam.
