Exhibition closing and panel discussion:
In The Face Of Others
Wrap it up, I?ll Take it!
Wednesday, April 21, 2004; 6-8pm
One Wall Street Court, 142 Pearl Street, 2nd Floor
Wrap it up, I?ll Take it! introduces new collectors to art collecting and
buying. Panelists give inside advice about purchasing work, building a
collection, and making crucial connections with up-and-coming artists and
professionals in the field. The dialogue is intended to demystify the
collecting process for novices. This free public program is the perfect
precursor for people who may want to participate in LMCC?s free silent
acution preview event in May, or simply wish to sharpen their art-buying
eye.
Panelists include Anthony D. Meyers, Artnet.com and independent consultant;
Janet Phelps, independent curator/fair organizer; and Trevor Schoonmaker,
Associated Projects. The discussion will be moderated by Erin Donnelly,
LMCC?s Associate Director of Programs. Special thanks to Carolyn Weidemann,
NURTUREart specialist.
In the Face of Others is made possible in part with public funds from the
New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the Electronic Media Film
Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and The
Experimental Television Center?s Presentation Funds program, supported by
