Artists Launch Resistance to Republican Convention
This summer,New York City artists will lead a wave of creative resistance against the 2004 Republican National Convention (RNC). On Monday, February 23rd at7pm, several creators will showcase their artistic counter-messages to the RNC as a part of 16 Beaver Group’s “Monday Nights” series. Action Arts, an artists’ collective within the noRNC Arts in Action Working Group, is curating this event as the first in a series of critical forums designed to promote dialogue between the arts community and the creative resistance movement.
The series will provide space for artists to present their projects and plans while encouraging creators of all kinds to “plug in” to the movement. This event is open to the public and members of the media seeking an understanding of this energized and unprecedented noRNC Arts movement.

WW3 Arts in Action:a collective using graphic arts and street theater to call for peace in the face of endless war.

About the noRNC Arts in Action Working Group:
The noRNC Arts in Action Working Group is a committee within the noRNC Clearinghouse, and is open to those preparing a creative response to the 2004 Republican National Convention scheduled to occur in NYC from Aug. 30–Sept. 4.
About 16Beaver:
16Beaver is the address of a space initiated/run by artists to create and maintain an ongoing platform for the presentation, production, and discussion of a variety of projects. It is the point of many departures/arrivals. Monday nights are an evening to share time and generate discussions, links, and ideas. Meetings usually begin at7pm and the location is almost always at 16Beaver Street, 5th Floor.
