Concurrent with the exhibition organized by
NURTUREart, Collectives at Work explores questions
that surround temporary projects created by artistic
collectives and how the concept of artistic
fertilization continues within the work of partnering
institutions or communities. Panelists, joined by
artistsà groups, will examine the impact of their
itinerant projects on the community; the long-term
contributions to institutions, spaces and the field
beyond temporary interventions; and the advantages and
disadvantages of non-profit models that utilize
collective organizational structures.
Panelists: Patricak Meagher, NURTUREart; Ayreen
Anastas, 16 Beaver Group; Prerana Reddy, South Asian
WomenÃs Creative Collective; and Greg Sholette, the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago & Public Edge.
