1. Sunday’s Assembling

We keep this note very short. We cannot say how important we think it is to find our ways toward supporting the movements on the street in any way possible (physically but whatever way one is able) at the moment in solidarity with Black Life, Black Lives Matter, Abolishing Police and Prisons, and fighting against all the forces who will seek to enclose/simplify the meaning and horizon of these movements.

What we are living through, what the virus has exposed requires a holistic reassessment, destructuring of many foundations and no state or existing institution is prepared or capable to do that. As we have written earlier over the years, they only know how to reproduce themselves and the privileges they possess or protect. They are all hierarchical and have been structured to be unaccountable to the needs of those they technically ‘serve.’ Moreover, they are fully imbued with colonial, racist, heterosexist, classist provisions, gates, checkpoints which can give access to some for preserving their order (their veneer of being ‘democractic’), but access is not what our emergent movements call for.

Power/over has to be dispersed/disarmed and Power/to resides with people/multitudes/communities to determine collectively in non-hierarchical ways their own forms of care, justice, subsistence of their worlds.

The discussions and meetings that happen now among groups, the debates, the opening up toward new ways of thinking the situations and pre-existing conditions we have been forced to accept, there is no time better than now to create ways of generalizing and expanding the analysis and forms of strike.

We hope to share more texts soon from our friends. For now, we keep this note short. And for those interested to join the online meeting tomorrow …
